Harper Justus

Hi :) My name is Harper Justus, I come from the far-off land of Dayton, Ohio. I hold an MFA in Sound Design from the University of California San Diego and a BFA in Production Design and Technology from Ohio University.

I am a sound designer focused on organic recordings and non-synthesized sounds to create abstract sonic textures and soundscapes. Partially because I find that it helps me connect with both my work and the world around me in a more meaningful way, and partially because I find recording sessions to be more interesting than sitting in front of a synth.

I am well-versed in the development processes of new plays both in a rep and otherwise, have extensive experience in live mixing for musical theatre, and am always attempting to find new methods of collaboration in design.

As an artist, I strive to explore the intersections of naturalism and surrealism in storytelling and to 

build spaces of accessibility and freedom of identity with my fellow artists.

​

I am also a water sign.
